Are you interested in volunteering at the New Providence Memorial Library? We have volunteer opportunities for New Providence residents who are in grades 8-12. Read below to see how you can volunteer at the library!
Volunteer opportunities are for NP residents with an active NPML card in good standing.
As a Page you will work a set schedule taking care of the following tasks in the library: shelving books, shelf reading, pulling titles, craft prep, assisting as needed. Students must attend training and pass a quiz to become a Library Page.
Another opportunity to train as a Library Page will be available in January.
Our Teens Teaching programs are a great opportunity for younger students to learn from older students in a fun, relaxed environment. High School students have the opportunity to develop their planning, speaking, and teaching skills and engage with their community.
One time programs are preferred. Please be aware that planning for library programs begins at least three months in advance and is contingent upon program room availability. We are currently scheduling for March 2027 and beyond.
If you are a High School student, and a New Providence resident, you may email* Emma (teens@newprovlibrary.org) to receive more information. Volunteer opportunities are for NP residents with an active NPML card in good standing.
* Parents, please help us teach teens valuable communication skills by having your teen email me directly. Teens are always encouraged to CC a parent and I will reply to all.
During the school year, Children’s Programming Volunteers help the Children’s Librarian with monthly programs.
Students can sign up to help with our Lego Club or Afternoon Craft Club.
