Library Cards

Sign up for a NEW library card online! Online registration is for anyone who lives in or pays taxes to New Providence, and does not already have a New Providence Memorial Library card. 

Patrons who register online will be assigned a library card barcode number, which can be used to access the digital library and other online resources. This barcode number can be displayed in the Main Library Alliance app, so you can use it to check out at the library with your phone as well. If you’d prefer a physical library card after you sign up online, please bring your ID to the library’s front desk.

Library cards expire after three years; proof of address is required for card renewal.  

Most children in New Providence get their library card during a school field trip to the library in first grade. Parents may sign up their child for a library card at any time, but most opt to wait for the first grade field trip.
